GEBO is an existing multicultural community to glorify God by making disciples of all nations.

Our mission
We intentionally build relationships with francophones of all nations, lead them to Jesus Christ, love them of His love, teach them to become like Him, equip them to serve and send them to proclaim the gospel of grace.

Our Vision
Our vision can be summarized in three words:
Reach – Form – Send. We aspire to see the multiplication of disciples, leaders, missionaries and churches among francophone communities, in obedience to Matthew 28:19-20, 2 Timothy 2:2, Matthew 9:37-38 and Acts 13-14.

Our beliefs and our alliance
We are a francophone evangelical Baptist church, rooted in the Scriptures and centered on the gospel of Jesus Christ. As a church family, we joyfully commit ourselves to walking together as one body in Christ, turning us away from sin and following Him with the help of the Holy Spirit.
LEGEBO belongs to the Union of Francophone Baptist Churches of Canada, in partnership with other churches for the growth of Christ's body.

Our heart as a church
Our ministry at GEEBO is shaped by the character of Christ. We want everything we do in worship, teaching, fraternal communion and mission to reflect the glory of God, depend on His Word and prayer, and be directed by the Holy Spirit.

Our ministry is rooted in the character of Christ, not in performance.
Serving with Love
We follow Jesus by serving others with humility, sacrifice and sincere love.
For the glory of God
We submit to God's authority and seek His glory in everything we do.
Word, Prayer and Spirit
We depend on the Bible, prayer and power of the Holy Spirit to guide and support us.
OUR TEAM
Meet our pastors
GEBO is led by pastors who love God, His Word and His people. Together they serve the church as shepherds, teachers and servants of Christ.
Senior Pastor
Pastor Guy Pierre-Canel joined the Baptist Evangelical Church of Ottawa (GEBO) in 1990 and was baptized there in 1991. He served faithfully in several ministries and also served as an elder and chairman of the church council. He holds a Master's degree in Divinity (M.Div.) and is married to Sonia Stiven, with whom he has two children.
Associated Pastor
Pastor Lesly Peter served as associate pastor of the Baptist Evangelical Church of Ottawa since 2016. He has served in several ministries since 2005 and holds a Master's degree in Divinity (M.Div.). Married to Mysta Pierre, he is the father of three children.
Pastor Youth
Pastor Dave served as youth minister at the Baptist Evangelical Church of Ottawa. He is married and has at heart the spiritual accompaniment of youth.
